Glass!
The sanding and cockpit hole cutting went so well today, I decided to glass the top of the deck. Next I’ll glue on the riser pieces and glass them to further strengthen that fragile area on each side of the cockpit. I departed from my usual method of applying a seal coat of epoxy, and went straight to the glass on bare wood. I think I like the seal coat better, the wood doesn’t soak up as much epoxy that way and glassing seams a bit easier and it doesn’t ’starve’ for epoxy. Still, it went quite well. Here’s the picture, you can click on it for more..
