Anton took the shot and I cropped the people out of it with The GIMP image editor. I think Kurt Maurer and I will be going out later this week and just may have to bring a photographer along for the occasion. Kurt will give the boat a better and (probably) more objective sea trial than I have. If he gets all phsyched to build one, I’ll let ya know.

The weather was nice, partly cloudy and mild temperatures. The water is a beautiful blue and reasonably clear.

Hannah really enjoyed the Sea Pup and managed to dump it a few times. She doesn’t have a spray skirt yet so she had to exit each time. Travis even gave it a paddle and except for one trip a bit too far out he enjoyed himself.

The Sea Tour paddled nice. There isn’t a lot of initial stability (at least for my inexperience) but it’s got some secondary stability. I managed to lay back and sit back up a few times. Need to watch a couple more DVDs before I try rolling all the way over. I still need a lot of work on bracing and turning but it’s a fun workout.

I finally got her out of it and gave it a go. Great boat! Very little weather cocking, tracks great when flat and turns very nicely when edged. Edging is easy and the righting force builds as you lean it over. Very well behaved boat and best of all My wife likes it. In the picture, good buddy Kurt M is riding ‘chase plane’ for the first time on the water. Kurt finally had a go and rolled it many times. After getting home, found very little water in the hatches. It sure eases my mind a bit to know that there are no flaws in the build. Didn’t realize how apprehensive I was until later when I was paddling it.
