Got the inside of the hull glassed today, first I put a carbon area in the floor and sides of the cockpit then glassed in front of that then behind it. After everything set up and I trimmed the edges, I put the deck on top to see how things were going to look. [...]

Glass on inside of the deck

After the glass was put on the hull, (last post) I applied a carbon fiber band around the cockpit on the inside of the deck for a tad more strength. Today I finished glassing the inside of the deck, then sanded and seal coated the inside of the hull.  I will be applying the glass [...]

Glass on the hull

Got a break from all the extra stuff I got going on, so sanded the hull, put the stems on and seal coated it.  Next I applied the dookie smutz to fill the knots and a few cracks.  While that was setting up, I sanded the inside of the deck and applied a seal coat [...]

Front and back parts of deck coming together

Here’s a pic of the strip I put on this morning, it bridges between the front and back parts of the deck at the side of the cockpit.  This is going to be a very fragile area until it is glassed and the coaming riser is glassed on.  I think it will be 2 or [...]

The deck is nearing completion

I had to shape the bow and stern a bit. I sanded the bow down and wet it slightly to see the grain, here’s a picture. The book-marked strips on either side of the center strip came out pretty nice. I book-mark matched each pair of strips I put on. About [...]
