Texas Kayak Builders bash
The bash has come and gone, those of you that were there had a great time, many models available for trying out. We probably hooked a few more builders, God help them now…..
I posted a bunch of pictures for y’all to look at and see if you can find yourself or others you know. Leave comments too! Just click on the picture of Kurt below to get to them..

2007 Texas Kayak Builders Bash Pictures

I had a great time at the bash and enjoyed talking to many experienced and curious kayak builders. Here’s a link to my photo set on flickr.
2007 Texas Kayak Builders Bash
Both Kurt and John had new original designs there in addition to Steve’s saran wrap kayak and Tony’s strip built Sea Ranger. I don’t have an official count, but I think there were at least 40 boats. Tony should post something soon with more official numbers.
Getting Ready for 2007 TKBB
Made a trip up to AustinKayaks in San Marcos this morning for some foam blocks to mount the yaks on my car. I’m still saving up for a Yakima or Thule (whatever I find cheapest on craigslist). They foam works well in this manner and will fit on the bars of the rack when I get it.
We’re leaving about 3:30 today and look forward to seeing some of you there tomorrow!
Texas Kayak Builders Bash!!!
It’s time for another builders bash. 4-28-07 This time it is near Galveston, Just off the island at the ‘West end’ at the Brazoria County Park. Lots of new kayaks to view and paddle if ya like. My new one is a 17′ by 19 inch strip version of the Sea Ranger (Tom Yost design) Kurt has a new one coming 2 inches longer than mine, but same beam and of a different design. Both are rolling low vol. kayaks. Other events include a Galveston ship channel tour starting at Texas A&M Galveston on Pelican Island on Sunday the 29th.
Take a gander at John C’s webpage reguarding time and events. This will be one you don’t want to miss.
See ya there!

Not Kayaking, but pretty cool.
Suppose you are in a lecture at a kayak symposium and they are using a whiteboard to list some things. You would like copies but there are none left. What to do? Grab your camera (or cellphone camera) and snap a picture of it (take more than one if the picture is large.) Next, email it or upload it with a google widget to ScanR and they will email you back a copy of the board. There are 3 features, Whiteboard, Documents, Business cards.
Later..

Paddling in Spain
Carlos of Diario de kayak sent me a couple of links on kayaking in the Mediterranean. The link to the pictures is here. Also included is a link to a video taken from a kayak, with the camera under the water link: Bajo de Agua
Thanks Carlos
